Not a volume business. A deeper approach.
ATD is built for work where careful examination, clear thinking and an evidence trail matter more than job count.

Why I built ATD
There is a difference between finishing a job and understanding it.
Many businesses are organized around how many jobs they can finish. ATD is intentionally different. I choose projects carefully, and the difficult ones often interest me the most. I want time to investigate the right question, without turning that process into an hourly race.
That means beginning with the symptoms and history, verifying what testing can establish, and clearly separating facts from possible explanations. I may work through diagnostic data, circuitry, existing repair records, vehicle condition or workmanship. The method changes with the project, but the standard doesn't.
When the work is finished, I want the customer to have something useful: an organized, detailed evidence packet with the findings, the supporting records and the next logical step. You can keep it, read as much as you want, or hand it to another technician. The record should still make sense without me in the room.
An unanswered question, honestly documented, is better than a diagnosis built on assumption.
That means treating suspected causes as questions until the evidence supports them. The goal is a more informed next decision, not an impressive-sounding guess.
Selectivity is a working standard.
I don't bill by the hour. That does not mean open-ended or unlimited work; a project needs a sensible scope and clear terms before it begins.
Not every assignment is accepted. If a job needs a specialist, a different tool, or more information before it can be evaluated responsibly, that belongs in the conversation up front.
Detailed evidence. Clear limitations. A usable handoff.
The packet can include photos, scan and measurement records, relevant source diagrams, performed tests, what is confirmed, what is not, and what should happen next. Contents depend on the agreed work.

Evidence before parts
A fault code is a lead, not a verdict. We separate measured findings from possible causes.
Care in the details
Condition, maintenance, cleanliness and workmanship all deserve thoughtful attention.
Useful documentation
A good explanation should be understandable, reproducible when practical, and honest about limits.
Drivers, buyers, technicians and fleets.
You don't need to be an engineer to ask better questions about your vehicle. And a technical professional shouldn't need to guess whether a wire diagram is showing the front or rear of a connector.

Not a promise that every answer is immediate.
Some faults require additional testing, specialized equipment, or a repair specialist. A responsible report explains those boundaries rather than hiding them.
